So you have created your website and now you’re ready for people to find you. You have submitted your website to Google yet when you type your company name into the google’s search engine, your business doesn’t come up. You may see your Facebook page but your newly created website is no where to be found.
Building Citation
In order to be found by your company name in Google search results, you should focus on building citations. What are citations? Glad you asked me. Citations are links of local search engine optimization (SEO). A citation occurs each time your name, address, phone number (NAP) are mentioned on the web. The more citations you have, the more likely you are to rank high for your business name. The easiest place to build citations is through local business directories. I would recommend if your site is newly developed site submitting your site to at least 50 directories so that your company name will show in Google search results.
Here are a few websites you can submit your local SEO to:
- showmelocal.com
- twitter.com
- https://www.google.com/business
- superpages.com
- elocal.com
